Toilet replacement and installation in Greenville and the Upstate
Toilet replacement done right: a new toilet set level and sealed, with a new shutoff and supply line, and the old one hauled away.
How much does it cost to replace a toilet?
The cost depends on the toilet you choose and the condition of the flange and floor underneath. Ethical Plumbing gives you a written price before work starts, installs a toilet you bought or supplies one, and removes the old toilet. Most replacements take an hour or two. Call 864-438-0525.
- Your toilet or ours
- New wax ring and supply line
- Flange and floor checked
- Old toilet removed
Why installation matters more than the toilet
Most toilet problems after a replacement come from the installation, not the toilet: a flange set at the wrong height, a wax ring that did not seal, or a toilet that was never leveled. Those mistakes cause slow leaks that show up months later as a soft floor.
We check the flange and the subfloor when the old toilet comes off, repair what needs it, and set the new toilet level and sealed. A new shutoff valve and braided supply line go in at the same time. If your toilet only needs a part, we will tell you; see toilet repair.
Reasons to replace a toilet
Replacement usually makes sense when:
- The tank or bowl is cracked
- It clogs often despite a clear drain
- It is an older model that uses too much water
- Repairs keep coming back
- You want a comfort-height or elongated bowl
- You are updating the bathroom

Toilet replacement FAQs
How long does it take to install a toilet?
Most replacements take an hour or two. Flange or subfloor repairs add time.
Can you install a toilet I bought?
Yes. We check that all parts are in the box before we start.
What is a comfort-height toilet?
A toilet with a seat about two inches taller than standard, closer to chair height.
Do you remove the old toilet?
Yes, we remove and dispose of it.
Do I need a new flange?
Only if the old one is broken, corroded or set at the wrong height. We check when the old toilet comes off.
Elongated or round bowl?
Elongated bowls are more comfortable; round bowls fit smaller bathrooms. We measure your space.
Can you move a toilet to a new spot?
Yes, as part of a remodel. It means moving the drain and supply, which we price separately.
Is caulk around the base necessary?
We caulk the front and sides and leave the back open, so a future leak shows instead of hiding under the toilet.
